Biography

Vicki Arthur is a native Californian. Her career as an artist began with original designs in precious stones and metals.  Her hand-wrought, gold and silver jewelry was exhibited throughout California at upscale boutiques in Ojai, Los Angeles and Santa Barbara.

Vicki then shifted her focus to painting with expressionist watercolors and acrylics. Her series of widely popular sports canvases depicting baseball, football, basketball, cycling, tennis, and soccer are in the private collections of sports greats as Muhammad Ali and Magic Johnson, and celebrities Jerry Seinfeld, Hector Elizondo, and Billy Crystal.  Additionally, the Deputy  Commissioner of Boxing for New York State selected her painting “At the Bell” for the Boxing Commission offices.

She then expanded her vision into the area of sculpture. Her paintings have appeared in the television series CSI, Station 19, The Mentalist, Six Feet Under, and her sculptures have appeared in films such as Funny People and in numerous commercials.

She has exhibited both paintings and sculptures at the Ojai Community Gallery, the Thousand Oaks Art Gallery, the Rotating Gallery in San Francisco,  the Viva Art Gallery,  and the Lankershim Art Gallery to name a few. She is currently a ‘Gallery Artist’ at the Infusion Gallery on Oahu in Hawaii.

Vicki also has a passion for teaching and has taught art for the Braille Institute and the LAUSD’s after school program, “Fun with Clay”.

She is a member of the Golden State Sculptor’s Association, the International Sculpture Society, Westlake Artists Association and the California Gold Coast Watercolor Society.  For many years she has been a contributing artist to Project Angel Food’s annual “Angel Art” auction in Los Angeles, which raises 600,000 a year to provide meals for AIDS patients.

Vicki has studied at the Otis Art Institute, Loveland Academy of Arts, Associates in Art, the Brentwood Art Center, UCLA and privately with Ilana Bloch, Manny Kramer, and Jenik Cook.
